Fitness Tip of the Day
Knee and bain pain are common to many of us. You may dismiss it as age, or that activities like running & sports are causing the pain. You may go to a chiropractor for an adjustment, or a physician to get a prescription for pain meds & muscle relaxers. Before you do any of that, make sure your problems aren’t caused by tight muscles and lack of flexibility. Your body compensates, sometimes leading to pain you wouldn’t expect. For example, tight hip flexors can tilt your pelvis forward, which changes the angle of your thigh bone and puts uneven, grinding pressure on your kneecap. How many people would guess hips are causing knee pain?
Modern everyday activities such as sitting at a desk compound these problems, which why it’s more important than ever to work on your flexibility and mobility. It’s truly amazing how much of our annoying pain can be relieved by the right stretches. Physical therapists are the gold standard for finding what’s ideal for you, but before spending thousands of dollars, why not try to find a good routine yourself?
