Standing Operating Procedure
Suppose you’re a member in Congress, and I present you with a bill to do all of the following:
* Immediate citizenship for all illegals currently in the country
* Requirement for all health insurance plans to cover abortion until birth and sex changes for minors
* Doubling of all foreign aid
* Permanent tax cuts for school teachers and social security recipients
* Requirement of photo ID to vote
The catch is, you have to vote for all of these or none. Go ahead, vote! You voted No?! You’re against voter ID and tax cuts for teachers & the elderly!!! You voted Yes?! You’re for illegals amnesty, sex changes for minors, and more foreign aid!!!!
This kind of bullshit has been a standard practice in DC for my lifetime. Congress will take a few items voters want, package them with a mountain of inflationary spending, add in kickbacks and some unpopular items they don’t want voters to know about, then put in all in a cryptic 2000-page bill. They’ll usually slap a colorful name to make it sound more appealing, such as “Inflation Reduction Act” or “Big Beautiful Bill.” Then, the party in power will bludgeon all its members to vote for it. Thomas Massie was one of the few in Congress to call them on this BS, which was another reason he had to go. Massie has been one of the leading voices for single-issue bills, but of course, they’d never be able to hide their spending and corruption. They’d never be able to explain why they voted against items 75+ percent of the country wants.
One of the reasons these massive bills make it through is that in addition to the relentless pressure on party members to vote uniformly, they can easily distort the records of the rebels in future elections. That is precisely what was done in the Massie primary. Big money ads and media propaganda are essential. Obama/Soros/MSNBC were specialists at the tactic. The Trump administration used Fox News, AIPAC, and millions in dark money to run the same playbook. There’s a good reason why Ed Gallrein refused any debates with Massie, and why Fox News refused to have Massie as a guest on any shows for 18 months. Hearing the other side would put their coordinated campaign of lies and propaganda at risk. Instead, they were able to create a caricature of Massie that had no basis in reality. And most of the boomer generation that gets all their “news” from Fox fell hook, line, and sinker.
Politics aren’t as clear-cut as they seem. We base our opinions on clipped tidbits of information, seek out sources that confirm our existing beliefs, and overly rely on media personalities to do our thinking for us. Fetterman is hugely popular with Republicans, yet he votes over 90 percent with Democrats. Massie is attacked as a liberal when he votes 90+ percent with Republicans.
The anti-Massie campaign was one of the dirtiest and most dishonest I’ve witnessed in my lifetime. The Epstein class and their controllers couldn’t allow someone to expose them, so he had to be destroyed. It wasn’t just about removing one voice but sending a message to any other possible voices of principle. It will backfire spectacularly in November and in 2028, when Vance, Rubio, and other members of the Trump admin discover their deal with the devil killed their political careers. Meanwhile, our national debt just hit $39 trillion, with a trajectory of $2 trillion annual interest cost alone in a few years, or twice our defense budget. But yes, Massie is clearly the problem! 👍

Decide for Yourself
This Tucker monologue and interview of Massie was done before the election, but it gives a good idea of his true character rather than the one believed by Gallrein supporters.

Pinning change on one person is a fool’s errand, and it’s rather weak minded as well. Until a change in the system is forced upon our legislators, the Massies of the world are just more meat for the grinder.
Now for starters to these changes, off the top of my head…
1. All lobbyists are banned from within a 100 mile radius of D.C. Penalties for breaking said ban can range from prison, seizure of assets and even death…or a combination of any or all.
2. Since you are a public servant, you will receive a base pay on average with the median pay of the country as a whole. You will receive per diem while in session.
3. You will not permanently reside in D.C. While in session, you will live in a dormitory setup. When not in session, your ass will be back home amongst your constituents and working your normal job.
I’m formulating more but haven’t quited fleshed them out as of yet.
Calling people weak-minded….always a great way to get them to listen to your ideas! 👍 this a perfect example why libertarians never get anywhere in national elections…they turn on and insult people for not thinking 100 percent like themselves. 🙄 No one said Trump had to do everything alone, but he obviously had power to do some good things. Instead he used every bit of his influence to go in the exact opposite direction of his promises.
Mr. Joe,
“Massie that had no basis in reality. And most of the boomer generation that gets all their “news” from Fox fell hook, line, and sinker.”
I’m not sure your words mean much different than “weak minded”.
Just saying…
By that, I meant making decisions without getting accurate or complete information. It’s a problem of confirmation bias, something that affects all of us. But point taken, I do sometimes resort to common libertarian behavior in my frustrations and need to improve.
Thank you for that acknowledgement. In my original statement, I never implicated a specific person, I just used an implied subject in the structure of my opening sentence. I wouldn’t presume to piss in your sandbox…that would be rude. But a good parry and thrust is always riveting. Is it not?
How, you are correct. Pointing out that people are uniformed is not calling them weak minded. Massie was a gift to the country. I can’t believe the 180° turn we’ve witnessed. I’m back to voting libertarian only on principle. I started doing that in the 80s, voting for Ron Paul. I’ve lost hope our country can come back other than through God. Your take on matters is greatly appreciated by me.
I have to say some of what JB said it’s home. Why they get paid so much and seem to do so little is beyond me. And yes I think they should live among their constituents. The lobbyists they need to go. But the biggest thing that has always confounded me is why they cannot just put a bill up concerning one thing without adding all the extras and vote on it. Seems to me that’s where a lot of the problems come in. Maybe I’m just naive.
GOVERNMENT IS THE GREATEST EVIL EVER CREATED BY MAN. It can’t be said enough.
Great summary Joe. It mirrors the application of blanket taxes like property taxes and income taxes. If they applied “user fees” to everything and let us choose, or even know the costs, we would likely reject, but by lumping everything in together you have no transparency or choice. Then they come up with insulting slogans like “don’t throw the baby out with the bath water” and everyone is shamed into going along rather than rejecting the obviously deceptive and criminal process.
It’s FAR PAST TIME to throw the baby out with the bath water…it’s ROSEMARY’S BABY, DAMIAN, etc.
