Stick to Merit

The vast majority of people in power positions who happen to be female, black, Hispanic, etc. got to where they were by merit. However, when people see appointees like Ketanji Jackson, who CLEARLY got her position because of identity boxes she checked, it perpetuates the stereotype that DEI is the reason for all their success. Therefore, they need to work even harder to prove they deserve to be the position they’re in. We may set a record for 8-1 Supreme Court decisions. 🙄

There may have been a time when that statement about blacks, women, etc in power might have been true, but I firmly believe that MOST today are absolutely there because of DEI or similar. And if we are talking about power positions in the political sphere, those positions have NEVER BEEN ABOUT COMPETENCE but always about one’s perceived ability to collect votes and hand back goodies to voters and supporters. Recently color, ethnicity, gender,, etc have become superior pandering tools.. Useless Jackson is there specifically because Mr. Potatohead said that he ONLY CARED about gender and skin color and nothing else.
Back in ‘ye olde days’ I suggested: Print the first ten Amendments. Take some ‘white-out’, slather it all over that ‘nasty’ Second Amendment, use a lot. Hold the page at arm’s length. Does that fluffy white cloud provide a solid foundation for the First Amendment?
