Maybe the Most Obvious Psyop/Distraction Story Ever 🙄
Does anyone reading this give a shit about this manufactured Guthrie story? Does it make anyone’s Top 1000 lists of priorities? The sad irony of this 24/7 media obsession of a supposed kidnapping is that it’s mainly to distract from the exploitation/trafficking of young girls by the most powerful people in the world. In other words, pay no attention to those kidnapping/trafficking stories…it’s more important to obsess about the 84-year-old mother of someone in the media. 👍

Lesson of the Day
In financial planning there’s a saying that it doesn’t matter how much you make, it matters how much you keep. Taxes can siphon off way more than you realize, especially when it comes to investing. For example, if you put $10,000 in a tax-sheltered index fund that earns 8 percent, in 30 years it will be worth $100,627. If you put the same $10,000 in a taxable 8 percent index fund, you’ll only have $51,276. That figure is for a 30 percent tax rate. However, when it comes to ordinary income in a state like California, you could easily be losing more than half your money to taxes, meaning even less compounding. This is why it’s especially important to take advantage of 401k’s, IRA’s, and any other tax strategies to keep the parasites away.
Picture this effect at a national level. U.S. stocks historically have a nominal return of about 10 percent. American companies have a return on equity much higher than that. The Magnificant 7 stocks grew earnings by a staggering 31.7 percent in 2025! Combine this with the contributions of 100s of millions of workers and geometric productivity advances from technology, you would think the American economy would be growing like gangbusters. We should be compounding by double digits every year. However, GDP growth is almost always in low single digits, even turning negative every 10 years or so. In fact, other than the distorted Covid return-to-work outlier, there hasn’t been a single year of GDP growth over 5 percent since 1984. That includes the explosion of PC’s, the internet, mobile devices, A.I., and countless other tech advances.
How can this be? The answer should be obvious — government. Taxes, regulation, and inefficiences are siphoning out growth every step of the way. On top of that, the welfare/benefit system is set up to reward people for not working or working less. Out of 267 million American adults, about 100 million adults are not working. About half of that total is retirees, which means about 23 percent of working-age adults are not in the workforce–not even part-time!
So, what do you think the solution is? More government? We have two major parties in the U.S. that seem to think so.
