Lesson on Taxes

Some reminders when it comes to government and taxes:
* They will pass the tax increases immediately after an election and/or schedule it to take effect immediately after the next election, counting on voters to forget, with other manufactured issues created to occupy attention.
* They sell the tax increases in one of 4 ways: 1) It’s only on the rich. 2) It’s only temporary. 3) It’s only to fund so-and-so project. 4) It’s because of some “crisis.”
* However it is sold, it will become permanent and find its way to the middle class, where almost all the revenue is generated.
* They will rarely call it a “tax.” Instead, it will be called a fee, surcharge, toll, license, or whatever other 1984 language they can use to cover up what it really is.
* Taxes on businesses, services, and products are only reflected in prices if a Republican passes the tax increase (e.g. Trump tariffs). If the price goes up due to a Democrat tax increase, well, then it’s obviously capitalist greed and price gouging.
* No matter how much tax they collect, it will NEVER be enough. Spending levels and government size will ALWAYS grow to use up whatever additional money is collected.
