There’s Some Hope
I’m not sure we can ever break the strangehold of two-party dominance as long as the majority continues to follow the lesser-of-two-evil thinking, but it’s starting to change. Younger generations are usually overwhelmingly liberal and older generations conservative, but the horricfic era of Bush/Obama/Trump/Biden, as well as Covid tyranny and an endless string of conspiracy theories turning out to be true, have finally wisened up a lot of Americans. All it takes is electing a few independent third party candidates to throw a wrench in the two-party system. Plus, when the majority of the country identifies as independent, it pressures candidates on both sides to campaign to them, abandoning their extreme bases. If you think your preferred party is always right and the other side is always wrong, you’re part of the problem.

If not for ATROCIOUS ballot access laws in ALL 50 states, a concerted conspiracy by the media to deny them coverage, and a rigged debate structure, we would see 3rd party candidates on every ballot in every election, including the presidential. True change will NOT come about through a system THEY CONTROL (for their own benefit).
All true. I think hatred of the two parties, the power of social media, and complete distrust of the media offer at least a little hope for the future. Traditional campaigning and debates are losing importance with every election.
Can we not see pretty clearly now how it’s all contrived? Good cop bad cop but with stupid b or c-level actors?
