The Joy Reid of Sports Commentators

This isn’t the 80s. Nearly half of QB’s nowadays are black. No one gives a shit or even thinks about it. I’ve never once thought about Lamar Jackson as black since he was drafted. I always just looked him as a great fantasy QB since he gets both rushing and passing yards, similar to Josh Allen (who I’ve heard is white). When in comes to mainstream media & entertainment, although it’s not politically correct to say, there is a definite “black privilege.” That is, you can make any kind of stupid ass divisive and racist statements on a regular basis without getting fired, whereas a white commentator wouldn’t make it a week for the same kind of statements. As I’ve mentioned though, the best way to end racism is to STOP F*CKING TALKING ABOUT IT! It only continues to be a perceived issue because political hacks like Ryan Clark continue to make it so.

Although you make good points, I do have to disagree with you (well, somewhat) – You’ll never be able to completely “end racism” – it will always be around, lurking in some dark corner. The best way (IMHO, anyway) to minimize the damage from racism is to _make fun of it._ I contend that TV shows like All in the Family and The Jeffersons did more to minimize racism in their day than a lot of people give them credit for.
I will agree that all the boneheads online & in the MSM whining incessantly about “privilege” this and “racism” that has more to *undo* the strides we made from the ’70s through the ’90s than pretty anything else.
Great points, Roger. Thanks!
