Who Could Have Seen That Coming?
Think of the owners of F-150’s or similar trucks. Do they seem the type to say, “Man, I wish I could spend a bunch of extra money to reduce my carbon footprint and impress all my leftist friends?” Do we once again have to give these companies the Marketing 101 lesson of target customers? I was listening to CMT while working out this morning. In between videos, ads for Rupaul’s Drag Race show kept coming on. I’m sure country music fans are anxious to tune into that! 👍
As for electric vehicles, consider not only the colossal waste of money by Ford, but all the government subsidies (i.e., our tax dollars) that were pumped into it and still couldn’t make it profitable. Maybe these genius marketing firms should actually run some surveys and focus groups on actual customers rather than get opinions just from other fellow liberals in the room? 🤔

Maybe some of the marketing geniuses over at Dodge/Ram who decided to stop making the V8 Hemi and saw the single worst year of truck sales of any company ever could go over to Ford and help them out? Or GMC who decided a turbo 4 cylinder is sales magic but decided to delete every reference to the number of cylinders on their website?
Seriously. Truck buyers are men. Men are not complicated. How hard is it to design a truck that men want and then sell it? Apparently it must be difficult cause I’m driving a 15 year old truck, wanting to buy a new one, and there is literally nothing on the lots of any of the big 3 that are better than a 15 year old truck. Guess I’m keeping the old one. Eventually it will be a cool antique. Maybe.
It wasn’t just listening to liberal douchebags regarding EVs. The government was actively DESTROYING internal combustion engine vehicles with ever increasing and completely unachievable mpg fuel requirements. If Trump hadn’t finally eliminated them, requirements would have been 50 mpg in just a couple of years. The ridiculous auto shutoff at stops, the dozens of extra transmission gears, every car with exactly the same wind-efficient profile, etc. Then add in the carbon credit bull$#!+ that was making ELON and AL Gore filthy rich, and the big 3 didn’t have lots of choices.
