Maybe the Fastest Nosedive in Poll Numbers Since Herbert Hoover
Do you remember the “Never Trump”ers? You know, the RINOs who wouldn’t support Trump no matter what he said or did: Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, George Will, Bill Kristol, etc.? It’s easy to forget this movement since they became so irrelevant in 2024. In fact, if a politician was attacked by a member of this group, his/her poll numbers usually went up. Now that Trump has broken most of his campaign promises and screwed over & attacked many of his most loyal supporters, does that mean they were right?
Answer: no, not in the least. The Never Trump crowd was dominated by the old school RINOs most of the country had grown sick of, the ones who supported endless wars, unrestrained spending, Patriotic Act surveillance, and other pillars of Ruling Class control. They were against Donald Trump because he was perceived as a threat to all that.
For most voters, it wasn’t so much that Trump was personally loved; they saw all the forces trying to destroy him: Big Pharma, Big Tech, Establishment politicians, Deep State agencies, Mainstream Media, Hollywood, etc.; in other words, most voters thought he actually was going to take on these forces that had brought so much misery to the world. Trump brought in Elon Musk and RFK to get libertarian voters disturbed by the spending insanity and medical tyranny of the Biden years.
Trump’s poll numbers are plummeting because he’s not only failed to bring down the Ruling Class power structures, he’s made them worse. He’s swimming in the swamp with them and then attacking all the people who call him out on his betrayals. In short, he’s done nothing of what the Never Trumpers feared. other than set a death course for the Republican Party, but not in the way they expected. In fact, now that Trump has shown himself as the typical swampy DC Republican, former Never Trumpers are rallying to his cause, with Mark Levin and Lindsay Graham being the best examples, who both are now, not coincidentally, top supporters.
Trump has always been into hyperbole, exaggeration, and childish personal attacks. Voters tolerated it in the hopes his unorthodox personality meant he was NOT like the DC politicians we’ve grown to despise. Unfortunately, we now have the worst of both worlds. In other words, a DC swamp RINO who also brazenly lies and denies reality, while he launches unhinged personal attacks on some of the most admirable, moral, and intelligent public figures who once supported him.

I always find it funny that people who choose not to have children are “selfish”, but the parents who expect children to be their retirement plan are not selfish, apparently. And I don’t think grown children “owe” their parents for raising them. Caring for a child properly is a parent’s responsibility, not a favor or a gift.
