A trillion is such a large number that it’s tough for most people to visualize. Try this: if you gave $1 million dollars to 1 million people, it would equal $1 trillion. I’m guessing a million dollars added to your bank account would tranform the life of almost everyone reading this, yet that is the amount the federal government has added to the national debt in only the last two months. It’s also a little less than it pays for one year of interest on the debt, and that amount, of course, goes up every year as we accumulate more total debt. That’s money wasted with nothing to show for it which will have to be paid for by future taxes or devaluing of the dollar (i.e. inflation). Roughly 1 of 340 Americans could be instant millionaires for that amount. Imagine you could donate $1 million dollars to 1 million different charities. The possibilities are endless if we can just get government out of the way.
