My Remaining Support for Trump Is Fast Approaching Zero 🙄
Trump’s 2nd term started so promising….DOGE, crackdown on criminal illegals, diminishing involvement in the Ukraine-Russia War, common sense on the 80/20 cultural issues, and seemingly great picks for his administration. He was fast on his way to making the Democratic Party a permanent fringe minority. But his reversals and turning on some of his most influential supporters the past couple months have been staggering. Although you may not agree with Tucker Carlson, Elon Musk, Thomas Massie, and Rand Paul on every issue, they’re all among the most principled Americans in the political arena. Trump’s attacks on them have been perhaps the most monumentally stupid ones in his long list of personal attacks. Is he going to go after Tulsi Gabbard and RFK next to make sure 100 percent of new voters in his coalition are gone forever?
There’s still time to change course, but clearly there are other forces at work. The Libertarian Party apparatus is about as incompetent as it gets, but the beliefs of libertarians (no wars, balanced budgets, low taxes & regulation, less government intrusiveness, etc) are popular with 70+ percent of voters. Doing the opposite of what those 70 percent want and alienating the most influential members of his base don’t seem like wise choices.
Ruling Class and Deep State forces were able to compromise nearly every high ranking member of his first administration, and they’ve clearly gotten to some in his second admin. As they’ve already thrown seemingly everything possible at Trump himself, he seemed to be the strongest candidate to finally stand up to them, but now I’m starting to wonder. Blackmailing and threatening his family, maybe?! Who knows, but Trump is too politically savvy to make these kinds of mistakes, ones that will be fatal to his administration if he continues on this path.
