One of Many Surprising Sucks of Taxyayer Funds

harvard smart school figure out how survive without billions taxpayer funds

Prior to DOGE, how many of you would have guessed so many billions were being given to Ivy League universities every year? When people think of government education spending, they picture the low paid elementary teachers busting their asses to teach a room of children, the poor kids from broken families trying to make something of themselves in a state college they can’t afford, or the outdated classroom resources that need to be upgraded for a changing world of technology. Instead, most of the educational budget (that isn’t fraud) is going to administrators, union officials, and entitled rich kids & professors at overpriced universities.

Trump is trying to kill the Department of Education and return money to the states. That’s an improvement, but the best solution is to get government out of the education business altogether. I know it would bring out more TDS suffering and gasps of how all these schools would survive, but the thing is, the trillions of dollars spent annually could be given back to the public, which in turn could be used to set up nonprofits or simply pay school fees in a sane, efficient way. With all the free education online, it’s way past time to overhaul our education system anyway.

  1. Whenever you talk about getting rid of government theft (school taxes) to fund education, the cries are always about how expensive it is and how unaffordable it will be but, much like similar arguments about eliminating third party payer insurance in medicine, nobody ever considers that maybe the reason it all IS so expensive IS because of the presence of the government or the third party payers who do NOTHING in the process but add massive additional costs.
