Random Thoughts of the Day

Imagine going to buy a used car with your spouse. You’re trying to negotiate a good deal, but whenever a salesperson quotes a price, your spouse says “Wow, that’s a great deal! We should take it!” Or imagine playing poker. You make a big bet, but the person behind you looking at your hand says “Wow. You’re raising on that crap?!” Regardless of the cards you’re playing, or the deal you’re trying to negotiate, it doesn’t help when you have others sabotaging your moves.

This is precisely the role the American media has played in foreign negotiations throughout both Trump presidencies. They’re constantly trying to undermine EVERYTHING he does, whether or not it benefits the American people. Their fearmongering on tariffs and trade policy only emboldens the Chinese to hold out, which makes a good deal all the more difficult. China is getting pounded right now by Trump tariffs, but it’s a communist dicatatorship, so their leaders know they will stay in power regardless of how much the average Chinese citizen suffers. And they know they can always count on their core of useful idiots in the Western press to try to mobilize American public opinion against Trump, pressuring him to go back to the screw-America policies that benefit them.

It’s doubtful the propaganda will work this time. Trump doesn’t care in the least what the press thinks of him anymore, and 90 percent of the country now knows they can be trusted on NOTHING. However, it will prolong the trade war, as foreign adversaries hold out hope the propaganda standard operating procedures will yield the results they’re used to. Use cannot hate the media enough!

  1. Your random thought – totally 100%. Walter Cronkite did more to help the North Vietnamese than Red China did. The press has been anti-American since before I was born. And most reporters today are too stupid to understand what they’re doing anyway.

Also, yeah, my wife did the thing at the used car lot too. I had to drive her home then go back myself to finish negotiating.

  2. The faucet meme is in reality worse than that.

    Democrat
Next year we’ll increase it by 5 drops!

    Republican
No, we’ll only increase it by 3 drops!

    Democrat
I know, we’ll call it a cut because we planned on 5 drops, but cut it to 3 drops. Win-win!

  3. China is communist in name only, they are the worlds 2nd biggest economy, they are as capitalist as they come. Are they authoritarian? Sure, just like most governments only they don’t try to hide it. And if anyone thinks that China, Russia etc are the ‘bad guys’ (or the ‘good guys’ depending on your perspective). I suggest you take read of the recent Kazan declaration from the last BRICS seminar. If you still think all governments aren’t under the control of the global puppetmasters then you are totally missing the point. Cheers. 🙂
