Another Trump Act of Magic

It’s always fun to watch what the Left will defend or attack simply to oppose Trump. Now that he’s implementing new tariffs, liberals have discovered that taxes may add to the cost of products for consumers!!! 😱😲🤡 Yes, they’ve been forced to look in the first few chapters of an Economics 101 textbook. Of course, they still have their textbooks of Karl Marx, Paul Krugman, and Saul Alinsky, so I’m sure they can follow up with a totally coherent explanation why taxes don’t increase prices when a Democrat is in power. 👍

I often have CNBC on in the background when I’m working or exercising. Both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris advocated for large increases in the corporate tax rate, as well as various tariffs of their own. In the last 5 years, I can’t remember a single minute of coverage discussing whether their tax increases would add to inflation rates or product costs…not one f-ing minute!!! Yet, the past few weeks they whine about Trump’s tariffs in practically every segment (that is, when they’re not droning on about A.I.).

Also, although it’s hard to believe, thanks to Trump’s tariffs, some leftists have even turned to the chapters in the Economics 101 book on supply and demand!!!! “Wow–changing prices and cost factors changes both supply and demand?!! And there are even graphical curves to represent the relationships?!!! 😱 What will happen to our soy and avocado toast prices?!!!!” I don’t expect them to continue reading until they get to chapters on trade deficits, balance of payments, and other econ topics. Like a vampire looking at the sun, it’s only a matter of time before their eyes catch fire.

We should all know by now that most of this is political theater. Trump knows that Canada, Mexico, China, and other countries will get hurt far more than the U.S., and our country can more easily adapt, so he’s willing to accept a little short-term pain for long-term benefit. Trump has 55+ years of business & economics experience, and he wrote the book on negotiation–literally. So, maybe we should give him a chance and ignore the screeching politicians & media talking heads as they condescendingly explain how Trump is stupid and crazy, and they’re the “experts” we should trust. 👍
