Organized Crime

A few days ago I blogged on why California has stayed Democrat for decades. Three more areas to consider are New York, Illinois, and District of Columbia.

DC has a heavy minority presence, who traditionally vote Democrat, but percentages from every demographic disproportionally vote Democrat in the nation’s capital. The reason why shouldn’t be a mystery. It’s the center of American corruption and lobbyist grift. Any politician threatening to take away their gravy train must, of course, be opposed.

Illinois and New York are a little more complex. Certainly, immigration and rigged voting are critical, but both of these states have been Democrat-dominated for a century. Can you think of what major changes in America happened 100 years ago? Think prohibition, labor unions, and immigrants unable to find work. If you guessed the rise of the Mob, you’re on the right track, and nowhere was organized crime more concentrated than Al Capone’s Chicago and the five Mob families of New York. Money and power are central aims of organized crime, and there’s no better way to build and preserve these than controlling politicians. Bribery and intimidation are central to political machines. Labor unions are gold to organized crime since not only can they be siphoned regularly for cash, they can be turned into voting blocks to blackmail politicians.

This shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, given the endless number of movie references, starting with The Godfather. There are tons of high profile references in American history, such as the hit on Teamsters leader, Jimmy Hoffa. Who better to rig elections than The Mob? Would you challenge Luca Brasi if you saw him stuffing ballot boxes? It’s no secret what political party the Mob supports, especially in New York and Chicago. No matter how big of shitholes the cities become, no matter how much obvious corruption occurs in broad daylight, the Democrats maintain power.

Like California, outside the big cities, the people in Illinois and New York are largely center/right in their political beliefs. However, they’re held hostage by political machines designed every which way to maintain Democrat control, all the way down to far-left media propaganda outlets like the New York Times. If they can’t bribe or intimidate you, they’ll destroy you. If you don’t believe me, try opposing Democrats in NYC or Chicago politics. I remember two Democrats who went against the Mob–John and Bobby Kennedy. I wonder what ever happened to them? 🤔
