Preserving the Ability to Cheat Is the ONLY Reason Not to Do It

Excuse me if I don’t trust one of the literal worst persons on Earth (although I still want to see DNA testing to prove he’s not one of the aliens from the movie They Live or V series). I’m guessing Zuckerberg’s social media companies simply develop more sophisticated, less obvious censorship algorithms.
In any case, this move by Zuck comes from fear–fear of what a Trump administration could do his companies, especially with a popular mandate and no re-election to worry about. Trump’s DOJ could launch all kind of antitrust actions, remove social media liability shields, introduce new regulations & taxes, and so much more. Even if Trump can’t do these with executive orders, there’s enough hate of Big Tech on the Left to even hit back legislatively. The same fear permeates Jeff Bezos and other tech tyrants. If Kamala was in charge, you can bet it’d be business as usual, with government machinery being used to take out remaining alternative Free Speech platforms like Musk’s Twitter/X and Joe Rogan’s podcast.
Although the Big Tech industry is as far left as any, the censorship infrasture of the past 5 years has been more than just ideology. It was the same kind of fear of what the Biden administration could have done if they didn’t obey. Although it’s nice to be on the winning side this time, the fact that our freedom is so fragile and dependent on every election outcome tells you one thing — the government has too much damn power!
